Your Role and Responsibilities
The role will consist of enabling the adoption of OpenShift instances on a private cloud. You will design & engineer Openshift/Kubernetes enhancements. In addition, you will be working with development teams to assist in containerizing traditional applications to be able to run on OpenShift.What you’ll do:
· You will work with the Product Owner and Squad members to engineer solutions for the container platform
· Develop and setup OCP Monitoring using Prometheus/Elastic
· Develop Openshift/Kubernetes security controls
· Deploy and Maintain Openshift/Kubernetes Clusters
· Automate the delivery of clusters & other artefacts
· Train & mentor of squad members & clients
· Assist project teams with delivery of containerised applications & service mesh configuration
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Kubernetes and Openshift v4.x experience• Certified in Kubernetes Administration or in Application (CKS or CKA) or Certified in Openshift Administration 4.x
• Highly proficient in developing metrics for Prometheus/Metrics/Elastic Monitoring
• Strong experience in Bash, Docker, Linux, and Git
• Ansible programming
• Enterprise Linux OS
• UPI deployments experience desired
• Understanding of networking including TCP/IP, firewall, proxies & load balancers
• Service Mesh design/architecture experience in an OpenShift environment or considerable experience with Istio
• DevOps/ Automation (UCD, Jenkins & Tekton)
• Basic understanding of nodejs, springboot & java to assist with determining where issues lie in the environment
• A strong understanding of TLS/mTLS
• Problem solving skills
