Your Role and Responsibilities

Mission
  • We’re seeking a self-motivated professional who has legal expertise or experience in contract negotiations to join our NZ team, working with our financial services client.

  • Balance risk and business objectives to help deliver client outcomes

  • Provide commercial and contract guidance to the business and other functions
  • Draft and negotiate agreements as well as implement best practice commercial strategies
  • Effectively represent Kyndryl and establish credibility to be able to influence key customers, partners, alliances etc
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders across different countries to deliver client outcomes

External
  • Client stakeholders in procurement, commercial and operations
  • Supplier contract managers and account managers
Internal
  • Kyndryl account team leadership
  • Kyndryl contracts and negotiations peers
  • Kyndryl Legal team
Key Accountabilities
  • Work with client commercial counterpart(s) to ensure continuous commercial compliance and conformance across the engagement
  • Manage the commercial issues register and commercial reporting to client
  • Manage the contract variation process
  • Work with the account management team to address commercial issues and disputes arising
  • Advise the account team on any matters of contract interpretation
  • Contribute to the project statement of work process by reviewing and marking-up draft documents
  • Participate in client meetings relating to commercial governance / commercial issue management
  • Liaise with Kyndryl Legal as needed to obtain legal opinions on commercial issues arising
  • Proactively advise the account team on risk mitigation strategies to reduce the likelihood of commercial issues and disputes arising
Qualifications or Certifications
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, interpreting, and authoring complex services contracts
  • Experience with NZ commercial law
  • The ability to communicate effectively and negotiate with all levels (professional to executive) within Kyndryl; as well as with customers, suppliers, partners and their external representatives
  • Financial acumen and the ability to balance legal risk with business goals and objectives and articulate this appropriately
  • Law qualification is advantageous
